VISION AND MISSION
The purpose of Living Wholly is to invite and empower all people to question their taken-for-granted assumptions, values and belief systems in order to expand their understanding and commitment to peace and justice as the primary values they choose to live by in their daily lives.
Through my speaking, writing, teaching, coaching, and acting I share stories and experiences that explore how this creative questioning impacts my own spiritual journey and how it has informed my vocation as a teacher, writer, coach, preacher, and actor, as well as my socio-political and philosophical perspective on the formation and development of faith and values.
I use a holistic model of human nature that employs rational, emotional and ethical appeals to motivate persons to grow and change in their commitment to the values that build peaceful, just, and healthy lives and communities.
Human beings are created in God’s image and have an innate potential and desire to participate as ethical members of the universal creation. When inspired in effective ways that encourage and invite gradual moral and faith development without creating excessive and counterproductive cognitive dissonance, people are capable of actualizing more of their divine/universal potential to live more wholly.
Guilt and fear of punishment for past and future “failures” are the enemies of joyful, peaceful living in the present. Living Wholly’s mission is to use writing, teaching, coaching, and drama to help clients suspend their assumptions about themselves and others and the created order and to discover their innate divine/universal wisdom, joy, and creativity. This will free all of us to make a positive contribution to a more just and peaceful world and to reverse the escalation of violence and greed and fear that threaten to destroy the human race.
